Richard E. Eads

Richard Earl Eads, 77, of Shelbyville died Sunday, May 4, 2008, in Fort Myers, Fla.

Born Dec. 12, 1930, in Shelbyville, he was the son of Earl and Lyda (Barger) Eads. He married Pauline Williams on Jan. 13, 1951, and she survives.

Other survivors include his sons, Mark (wife, Leslie) Eads of Shelbyville and Michael (wife, Valerie) Eads of Fort Wayne; daughter, Melissa (husband, Robert) Conidaris of Fort Myers; nine grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Knight.

Mr. Eads and Ross Miller started Miller Eads Co. in 1969, where he was an electrical contractor until retiring in 1996.

He graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1949.

Mr. Eads was a member of First United Methodist Church, Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks No. 1307 in Rushville, Masonic Lodge of Shelbyville, Murat Shrine Club, Scottish Rite and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local No. 481.

A gathering of friends will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on May 22 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes, Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St.

Services will be at 7 p.m. on May 22 at the funeral home, with Chaplain Bryan Trotter officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice of charities.
