Amsterdam Evening Recorder, Wednesday, May 5, 1915 ~ Mrs. Richard Getman died at 11 o'clock Tuesday night at the home of her grandson, Stanley Everson on the Sand Flats, aged 86 years. Death was due to a complication of maladies incident to old age. Mrs. Getman was a lifelong resident of the town of Mohawk and had endeared herself to a large circle of friends by her beautiful character. She was a member of the Reformed church of Fonda. Born Elizabeth Shults, a daughter of William H. and Maria Rickard Shults, her first husband was the late Levi Everson, and a few years ago she was wedded a second time, to Richard Getman, who is also deceased. She leaves six children by her first marriage: Leander and Ellsworth Everson, of Fonda, Henry B. Everson, of Flushing, L.I., Mrs. Edward H. (Josephine) Sammons and William Everson, of Fort Plain, and Raymond Everson, of Rural Grove. The funeral will he held at the home at which Mrs. Getman died, Friday afternoon, at 2 o'clock Interment will be In Evergreen Cemetery, Sand Flats.
