VAN - Services for Roy Baxter, 55, Houston, brother of a Van resident, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cottle Funeral Home chapel, Troup, with Judy Edelhauser, Judy McFarland and the Rev. David Goodwin officiating.

Burial with military honors will be in Henry's Chapel Cemetery near Troup.
Mr. Baxter died June 27, 2008, near Jasper.
He was born Oct. 2, 1952, in Dallas to the late Emmett Roy Baxter and Margaret Nell Hawthorne Baxter. He served in the Marine Corps, was a bus driver and worked for Sierra Trailways for the last three years. He lived in Houston since 1983.

Survivors include his wife, Rose Faye Baxter, Houston; sons, Donnie McFarland, Conroe, and Freddie Allen, Houston; daughter, Amanda Pittman, Houston; sisters, Pat Wright, Van, Joyce Piper, Fort Worth, and Judy Edelhauser, Wolfe City; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Family will receive friends 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
