Minnis Hunt, age 86, of Jamestown, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2009 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Hunt was born April 30, 1922.
Mr. Hunt is survived by four sons, Dean Hunt and wife Sheila and Dale Hunt and wife Carol both of Jamestown, Danny Hunt and wife Lisa of Dickinson, TX and Denton Hunt and wife Trina of Lebanon, TN; eight daughters, Ruth Thomasson and Faye Isabelle and husband Don both of Cookeville, Dotsie Hunt of Dickinson, TX, Betty Hunt Cates, Barbara Carter and husband Buddy, Carol Crabtree, Melissa Cravens and husband Eric all of Jamestown, and Sherry Cain and husband Chuck of Georgia; three sisters, Georgia Stanley, Dorothy Cook and Clara Stephens; forty-seven grandchildren; fifty-six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Hunt was preceded in death by wife, Fonza Blackeyes Hunt; son, William Hunt; and parents, Miligan and Vinie Reynolds Hunt.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Mundy Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Duncan officiating. Burial followed in the Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers included Adam Ipock, Todd Hunt, Keith Hunt, Chad Hunt, Jamie Ipock, Greg Pritel, Dylan Cravens, Brent Ipock, Joey Buck, Billy Buck and Ron Pritel.
