Harold E. Birt

Harold E. Birt, 63 3209 N. 26th Place, Phoenix, Ariz., passed away early Sunday morning at the Veterans Hospital in Phoenix.
Born on May 12, 1916 in Pulaski County, Kentucky, he was the son of James E. and Mae T. (Surber) Birt.
Mr. Birt had moved to Phoenix several years ago where he had been employed as a bus driver by the city of Phoenix until his retirement in 1978. He was veteran in World War II, serving in the U.S. Army in Germany.
Mr. Birt was a member of the First Church of God in Phoenix.
Survivors include his wife Polly: five daughters, Mrs. Karen Wood, Route 4, greencastle, and four other in Arizona; two sons, Gordon Birt, Route 5, Greencastle, and one in Arizona: two sisters, Dorothy Birt and Freda Collins, both of Greencastle: three brothers, James V. Birt and Norman Birt both of Greencastle, and Julian Birt, Fort Wayne; 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was prededed in death by his mother, Mae T. Birt on Oct. 12, 1979 and by his father James E. Birt on Oct. 26, 1979.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 20 at the First Church of God in Phoenix with burial in that city.
