Private, Company D, 1st CMR Battalion. Son of CH and Carrie Allred; born July 5, 1894 at East Galesburg. Entered service at Medicine Hat, Canada in 1914; transferred to 8th Canadian Infantry, BDE, 3rd Canadian Division, BEF France, discharged in 1919.

obit:Cecil E Allred, 82, of 214 State St, East Galesburg, died Friday at 4:40 PM at Cottage Hospital.
He was born July 20, 1894, in Tipton, IN, and married Edna Hall on April 3, 1973 in Galesburg. She survives with three sons, Edwin of River Forest, Lawrence , Wood Dale, Robert of Glendale Heights; a stepson, Dean Hall of Wheeling; a daughter, Mrs. Gary (Audrey) Willis, Galesburg; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Enos (Violet) Guill, ElMonte, CA, and Mrs. Guy (Shirley) Tenerelli, Whittier, CA; two brothers, Charles of Long Beach, CA, Julian of Las Vegas, NV; three sisters, Mrs. Veree Dorge, Medicine Hat, Canada, Mrs. Ida Watkins and Mrs. Faye Martin, both of Madera, CA; 21 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mr. Allred was a brickyard worker, a veteran of World War I in the Canadian Army and was a member of the Canadian Legion.
Funeral will be Monday at 10:30 AM at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel where friends may call Sunday from 7-8:30 PM. Rev. Raymond Marquith will officiate. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery.
