Wellknown Business Man of Kiel Answers Final Summons
On Monday evening at eleven o'clock Walter Duecker passed away at his home, after a lingering illness of tuberculosis of the lungs.
The deceased, a son of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Duecker, was born in Kiel, March 19th, 1881, and after completing the local school, he entered the employ of his father as plumber and tinner, having taken a course of instruction in plumbing, later becoming a partner in the business when the J. M. Duecker (? ) Co. was organized. He was united in marriage to Mary Roeck, Dec. 31, 1903. The union was blessed with one son and one daughter. About a year ago Mr. Duecker was compelled to give up his work on account of illness and since last July he was confined to his bed with pulmonary disease, his condition becoming gradually worse, until he finally succumbed. He leaves his wife, two children, his parents, one brother, one sister and other relatives, and many friends who mourn his death. He was a member of the fire department, the maennerchor, turners, E. F. U., Red Men and Beavers.
