Rosa Ellen Fales was the daughter of Eli Adlorence Fales and Margaret L. JOHNSON Fales. She had one sister who died at birth and another sister, Isa Agnes Fales who married Harvey Kimes.
Rosie was married June 1, 1898 to Mordecai "Mordie" Widdifield by Rev. Dunlap in the St. Peter's Lutheran Church parsonage in Spencerville, Indiana.
Rosa and Mordie Widdifield had 2 children: Clarence Eugene Widdifield and Leone Agnes Widdifield Mortorff.
Rosa was a life long resident of Spencerville, Indiana. She had black, neat curly hair, and dark brown eyes so dark they looked black. She contacted Typhoid Fever and as a result all of her hair fell out. When it grew back in it was white and was straight. She was 21 or 22 years old when she had typhoid fever and almost died of it.
Rosa Fales was a school teacher for two years until she married. She had to quit teaching as "Married" women were Not allowed to teach. She only went to 8th grade in school which is about high school now (1963). Rosa played the guitar and piano for pleasure.. In politics she was also a radical Republican like her husband. She died of pneumonia and chronic heart condition.
