JAMES ARTHUR RIDGWAY, 70, died Friday at home. Born in West Unity, he was a truck driver for 31 years. He retired in 1991. He was an Air Force veteran. Surviving are his wife, Shirley M.; a son, Denver A. of Montpelier; a daughter, Brenda Powers of Waldron, Mich.; four brothers, Harvey of Grabill, Ind., Denver ''Alva'' of Bryan and Wayne and Rex, both of West Unity; two sisters, Mildred Sumner of Bryan and Delores Cook of West Unity; and six grandsons. A daughter, Karen Barrera, died in 1993.

Services at 1 p.m. Monday at Thompson Funeral Home, Montpelier. Calling from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday.

Burial in Shiffler Cemetery, Bryan. Military graveside rites. Memorials to Hospice, the Caring Way of Williams and Fulton Counties.
