Kelly Baker, 75, a Columbia mechanic for 45 years, died Monday evening at his home at 701 North Williams St. Mr. Baker operated a downtown garage and wrecker service until 1950. He operated a one-man garage until illness forced him to retire in 1965. The son of Edwin and Nannie Duncan Baker, he was born Nov. 29, 1894, in Millersburg. He married the former Nellie Mae Smith, May 9, 1917. Survivors include his wife and a brother, Richard Baker, Millersburg. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Parker's Chapel by the Rev. John Foley. Burial will be in Millersburg. Pallbearers will be Gil Fisher, Jay Shryock, Kelly Fisher, Robert J. Beatty, Clifton Kennett and Clarence Kennett. Friends may call at Parker's Chapel until this afternoon.
Note: Benjamin Kelly & Nellie Mae Smith Baker, had no children.
