Peter Velder, 47, former Tilden farmer, was stricken with a blood clot in his heart about 8 o'clock Thursday evening at his farm near Battle Creek while unloading hay.
Because of the seriousness of his condition Mr. Velder was not taken to a hospital until Friday afternoon when he was moved to Our Lady of Lourdes hospital at Norfolk. He was taken by death Sunday morning at 12:35 a.m.
Funeral services were held at 9 o'clock Tuesday morning at St. Patrick's Catholic Church at Battle Creek with the Rev. Herman Kaup officiating. Burial was made in the Catholic cemetery at Tilden. The rosary was said at 8 o'clock Monday evening at the Steffen Mortuary at Battle Creek.
Peter John Velder, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Velder, was born October 28, 1903, at Raeville, and was reared on a farm in Antelope County. He was united in marriage to Miss Elizabeth McCarthy at Tilden, August 11, 1942. They lived on a farm near Tilden until 1947, when they moved to a farm two miles south of Battle Creek.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth; two sisters, Mrs. Stanley Graboski of Tilden and Miss Margaret Velder of Norfolk; three brothers, Albert and Charles Velder of Tilden and Henry Velder of Holstein, Nebr., other relatives and friends.
