Daughter of Frank Damuth & Lena Josephine Snodgrass Lemper

Sue Ellen Schroeder, 64, of Waterloo, died Sunday, July 15, at Allen Hospital following a long illness.

She was born Aug. 27, 1947, in Waterloo, daughter of Frank Damuth and Lena Josephine Snodgrass Lemper. She married Richard M. "Schultze" Schroeder on July 12, 1969. He died Feb. 13, 2008.

Mrs. Schroeder graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1965. She worked at the Sears Store in Waterloo for 25 years, then worked for the Winnebago Scout Council office until retiring in 2003. She was a member of Cedar Bible Church, Cedar Falls.

Survived by: two sons, Michael (Nicole) of Independence and David (Angela) of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren, Madison, Mackenzie, Sydney, Kylie and Caleb; two brothers, Frank (Fran) Lemper of Waterloo and Tim (Cathy) Lemper of Florida; and two brothers-in-law, Leon (Nancy) Rickard of Delhi and Jack (Denise) Schroeder of Lawton.

Preceded in death by: a sister, Julie Rickard.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Cedar Bible Church, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Garden View Chapel Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Thursday at the church.

Sue enjoyed spending time with her family camping in Minnesota, sewing with the quilting group at First Baptist Church in Waterloo and playing a good game of bingo. She gave the gift of life by being a Iowa Lion's Eye Bank Donor.
