Crystal Rae Vaughan Pearce

Crystal Rae Pearce, 85, a resident of Sweet Home died Friday, May 28, 1999 in the Villa Cascade Care Center. She was born on March 28, 1914 in Mitchell, Oregon the daughter of Ray S. and Martha (Godwin) Vaughan.
She moved to Sweet Home as an infant and attended schools here. She married James P. Pearce on August 4, 1934 in Albany. He preceded her in death on April 26, 1982. During World War II, she was an aircraft lookout and did fire watch. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Sweet Home Church of Christ and enjoyed working in her yard, gardening and seweing.
She is survived by her children Cleabelle Dobbins of Port Angeles, Washington, Carolyn Bonagoski of Portland, Marilyn Struminski of Sweet Home, James Erwin Pearce of Sweet Home and Eldon Pearce of Sweet Home along with nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are siblings, Elizabeth Cornwell of Sweet Home, Bessie Culbertson of Tigard, Wilbur Vaughan of Sweet Home, Clarence Vaughan of Lebanon, June Cannaday of Newberg, Anna Boedighiemer of Los Angeles, California and Mary Anderson of Silverton.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Vaughan.
Graveside services will begin at 11a.m. Wednesday, June 2, 1999, in Gilliland Cemetery Cemetery with Pastor Pete Kauffman officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Doernbecker Children's Hospital in care of the Workman and Steckly Funeral Chapel.
