Thelma Reel, age 85, of Russellville, the widow of Robert L. Reel, died Sunday, May 3, 2009 at the Atkins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. A daughter of the late Edgar Harrison and Florence Elizabeth Vick Haynes, she was born September 23, 1923 at Pottsville. She enjoyed fishing, and loved cooking for her children and grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by five brothers and a sister.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law: Robert H. and Donette Reel of Modesto, California; Donnie and Sharon Reel of Atkins; and Ronnie and Bonnie Reel of Russellville; a daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Sam Warren of Tilly; three sisters: Zona Farmer and Lillian Cooksey, both of Atkins; and Mary Ruth Haynes of Arizona; ten grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at 10 A.M. on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at the Shinn Chapel, officiated by D. L. Warren. Burial will be in Shiloh-Williamson Cemetery, by Shinn Funeral Service.

Active pallbearers will be grandsons: Tony and Nathan Reel, Sam Warren, Jesse Chisum, Greg Outlaw, Brian Baker and Bill Moore. Honorary pallbearers will be Mrs. Reel's caregiver, Cindy Deeds, and the staff of the Atkins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, from 6 to 8 P.M., at the funeral home.
