Leighton Russel Froemming was born in Alexandria, Minn., October 25, 1921, the son of Arthur and Olga Froemming. He was baptized and confirmed in the Zion Lutheran church and attended the Alexandria schools.
For several years he was employed as a baker at Alexandria, later in Minneapolis and the past six years he was employed at the Dykman Hotel in Minneapolis.
Leighton died in Minneapolis May 5, 1963 at the age of 41 years, 6 months and 20 days. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Hans Arvidson of Alexandria; three brothers and one sister: Warren of Minneapolis; Wallace of Grand Rapids, Elroy of Alexandria; DiAnn (Mrs. Dan Ness) of Minneapolis. He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers.
Funeral services were May 18, 1963 at Zion Lutheran church. Rev. K. K. Hill officiating. Interment was in Kinkead Cemetery, Alexandria. Pallbearers were Dale Schumacher, Norman Schumacher, Orville Schumacher, Wayne Schumacher, Roland Schumacher, Donovan Schumacher.
