Emanuel Quinley, 80, a native and resident of the White House Fork Community of Bay Minette, died Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Oakwood Nursing Home. He was an engineer (retired) for the State Highway Department and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his wife of 23 years, Shirley Stewart Quinley; his wife of 17 years, Marjorie Richards Quinley; one grandson, Bradley Gray; and step-daughter, Debbie Wilkerson. Survivors include three children, Timothy Emanuel Quinley, Brenda Quinley (Randy) Ganey and Denise Quinley (Michael) Gray, all of Bay Minette; two step-children, Douglas Van Allen of Bakersville, Calif., and Janet (Michael) McGowin of Birmingham; two brothers, Olben O. Quinley of White House Fork and Tommy Quinley of Riodosa, N.M.; sister, Elizabeth Ward of Stapleton; and a loving host of grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 23 at Norris Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 24 at New Life Baptist Church with the Rev. John Montalvo officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at New Life Baptist Cemetery. Pallbearers are Wilson Palmer, Ronald Richerson, James Glasgow, Jackie Glasgow, Carlton Roberson and Brian Aaron. Arrangements are by Norris Funeral Home, Bay Minette.
