Son of Alonzo and Agnes Poff Townsend. Wife Martha B. Townsend. One sister, Marian Elizabeth (Townsend) Tanner, buried at Restland-Dallas, as well as her husband, Herman John Tanner; and son Jack Dempsey Tanner (Purple Heart - Bronze Medal Recipient - K.I.A.). His brother Eugene Townsend, and wife Jeannetta are buried here in Leavenworth as well.

Niece Marian Elizabeth (Tanner) Barnes (as of this entry, 85 yrs) recalls that her Uncle George worked for a mattress company somewhere around Leavenworth, KS. He sent them a new mattress when she was still at home before she married in 1946. She cannot recall whether Uncle George and Aunt Martha had any children. Alzheimers takes away so much of our life history.
