Services for Nadine Smith Simmons will be held Thursday, June 15, 2006 in First Baptist Church with Rev. Thomas Rush and Rev. Perry Webb officiating. Burial will be in Wright Cemetery, Sikes under the direction of Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home, Natchitoches.

Friends may call Thursday from 1 p.m. until time of services in the church.

Mrs. Simmons, 77, of Natchitoches, died Monday, June 12, 2006, at Natchitoches Regional Medical Center in Natchitoches.

Nadine blessed the lives of all who knew her by her loving and gracious spirit.

She was married to her best friend, Lisso, for 56 years. They shared a beautiful life together, opening their hearts and home to many. An enduring legacy of generosity, hope, and an unwavering faith in God will live on in the lives she touched.

She was a native of Sikes.

She was a homemaker and teacher. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She was also a past member of W. M. U. at First Baptist and also the Natchitoches Garden Club. She was active in The Lions Club, Couples Too Sunday School Class, and The Association of the Preservation of Historical Natchitoches.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Robert Smith and Isabel White Smith; brothers, Stacy Smith, Delmer Smith, Curtis Smith and Maxell Smith.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Lisso Russell Simmons of Natchitoches; three daughters, Andrea Simmons Cates and husband Victor of Martin, Tennessee, Kahne Simmons of Madison, Mississippi and Staci Simmons Waldvogel and husband Dieter of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two sons, David Rolfe Simmons and wife Joy of Friendswood, Texas and Russell Baine Simmons and wife Robin of Portland, Oregon; grandchildren, Lin Cates, Reid Cates, Cameron Cates, Josh Simmons, Allison Simmons, Brian Siperstein, and Dylan Siperstein; greatgrandchild, Hannah Simmons; one sister, Nellene Fisher of Monroe and one brother, Jack Smith of Winnfield.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be Natchitoches Lions Club and Couples Too Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to Lions Club Crippled Children Camp in Leesville and Louisiana Baptist Children's Home P. O. Box 4196 Monroe, La. 71203 or the charity of the donor's choice.
