Buena Vista - April 1910 - MRS. JOSEPH McCORMICK
-Mrs. Joseph McCormick died last Monday, April 26th, and was buried Tuesday morning in Green Hill Cemetery.
-Mrs. McCormick, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Lewis, was born near High Bridge Church, Rockbridge county, July 10th, 1858. April 29th 1877 she was married to Joseph McCormick, who survives with six childen, two daughters, Mrs. W. B. Beard and Mrs.A. Kyle Roop (one daughter having preceded her to the grave by about eight years) and four sons, Messrs. J.A.., J. W., J. O. and E. W. McCormick, besides a host of relatives and friends. In early life she joined the Prebyterian Chuarch of this city, and had been a consistent and faithful member.
-The funeral services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. A. C. Hopkins assisted by Rev. Young and Dewolf, of Lexington, and Rev. Heydrick, of Wesley Chapel. The large concourse of friends who attended and the beautiful floral offering attested to the esteem in which she was held.
-The pall bearers were Messrs,. E. M. Dixon, W. B. Rees, M. B. McNamara,W.T.Dodd, H.W.Barclay and Edgar Burks.
-The flower bearers were Misses Hupman, Eva Heizer, Carrie Lewis, Odessa Dixon and Mrs. Barbour.
