Anna Kleiss, 77, of Wichita, Kansas, and formerly of Pesotum, Ill., and Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away Friday, Sept. 24, 2004, at home. She was born Nov. 4, 1926, in Paris, Ill., and was the daughter of Eddie Leon and Blanche Bapp Jewell, married John Edwin Kleiss on June 21, 1948.
She was employed at Lewis and Robersons Department Stores, both in Champaign, Kan., for 25 years. She then moved to Punta Gorda, Fla., were she worked for Hospice. She was a member of Forty Martyrs Catholic Church, in Tuscola, Kan.
She is survived by a daughter, Eileen (Michael) Palmer of Wichita; one grandson; one granddaughter; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John, April 7, 1983; one great-grandchild; a brother; and a sister.
