The couple had one child, a daughter,
Mahala Melvina Burchfield, born ion August
5, 1845. Cyntha was the daughter of Maples
Long and Mahala 'Atchley' Long.
Sadly this marriage was an unhappy union
and ended in divorce when Mahala Melvina
was about 7.
Elijah and Cyntha were divorce on August
1, 1852 in Sevier County, Tennessee.
Elijah later remarried and moved to Missouri.
His second wife was Keziah Chipman Daniel.
They also had children. Two sons, William A.,
and Elijah Everette. Rev. Elijah and Keziah
raised their family in Missouri.
