George Martyn was a farmer who lived for some years on what is now Shenandoah Path near Catlett, Fauquier County, Virginia. He and his two brothers, mother and some other relatives (who later moved away) bought property on this road around 1959 or 1960. He lived there until he moved to live at Culpeper Health Care Center. Mr. Martyn was the last survivor of three brothers who moved to Catlett and was a bachelor. His mother also predeceased him. He is survived by nephews and nieces and as of 1999, three sisters: Virgie Frank of Damascus, MD; Ada Kilby of Beltsville, MD; and Edith Moncrief of Colonial Beach, VA. George Martyn was a good neighbor to this writer and all those who lived near him. He was a gentle and friendly person.
