Marie Acuff Blackman, 88, of Chattanooga, TN died on Monday, May 4, 2009 at a local nursing home.
The widow of Harold "Blackie" Blackman, she was a dedicated charter member of White Oak Church of Christ.
Her friends and family enjoyed her kindness and caring as well as her sense of humor. She was a beautiful lady who will be missed by those who knew her.
She had worked during WWII at the American Lava and later as a consultant for Eckerd's Cosmetics Department.
She and Blackie were devoted to their dogs over the years, Queenie, Bonnie, Dixie, Daisey and Murphy.
She is survived by her nephew, Lucian B. Acuff Jr. and his wife, Emily; her nieces, Janice Delaney Lusk, and Sylvia Delaney Benton.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Minister J.C. Watkins officiating.
Arrangements are by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home Ft. Oglethorpe, GA.
