BERTHA NOVINE LEIFESTER HEATHCOTT
WINTERS, TEXAS

Bertha Novine Leifester Heathcott, 80, passed away Monday, Septermber 7, 2009. Novine was born in Roosevelt, TX to Bertha Bertrice Parker and Henry Rudolph Leifester on July 20, 1929. She married Arnold Ivan (Rass) Heathcott from Wingate, TX on July 5, 1948. They moved to Aspermont, Tx in 1954 where they raised 4 boys and lived for 55 years.

In her younger days, Novine played semi-pro softball. She and Rass were avid sports fans and loved to watch baseball games. They also loved to fish and bar-b-que. Novine's favorite hobby was making quilts of which she made many for relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters: Ada Brizendine and Patsy Shipley-Decker and her husband Rass.

She is survived by 4 sons: Rodney Heathcott and wife Sandy of Bastrop, Llano Heathcott and wife Deborah of Veribest, Bill Heathcott and wife Linda of Navasota and Doug Heathcott and wife Mitzi of Gray, La: 2 sisters: Carlita Fox of San Antonio and Glenda Casteel of Killeen: 3 brothers: Son Leifester and wife Mary of Harker Heights, George Leifester and wife Charlotte of Belton and Winston Leifester and wife Geneva of Rock Port; 7 grandchildren: Adam, Amanda and Emily Heathcott of San Angelo, Elizabeth and Clay Condrey of Navasota, Dana Heathcott of Tyler, Chance and Shelli Heathcott of Navasota and Trish Foret of Houma, La; 5 great-grandchildren: Cash Condrey, Trey and Shea Foret and Devin and Mallory Heathcott; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and lots of friends.

The family will be receiving friends at Winters Funeral Home Friday, September 11, 2009, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Graveside services will be held Friday September 11, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at Wingate Cemetery with Ron Heathcott officiating under the direction of the Winters Funeral Home.
