As a young man Robert lived at the home of his brother Waite. Later, his sister Mary Margaret lived with him until her death. He was the last surviving child of Robert & Mary Ann Sommerville. He had many nieces & nephews. He is shown here with his nephew Jack.
Robert was one of the directors of the Park Savings Bank which failed in 1933 due to embezzlement by another director. Robert opened a small oil company in D.C., and lived alone in a state of destitution till his death of a heart attack.
