Son of Edna Dean Ashcraft and the late James F. Ashcraft. Husband of Mary Kimiko Shigemi. USAF Veteran of the Korean War. Farmer and Miner (roof bolter). Father of three. Victim of the November 20, 1968 Farmington Number Nine (Consolidated Coal) Disaster in which 78 miners perished. Body was recovered on May 11, 1972.
