Barbara was the third born of eight children. Her family moved from Mt. Pleasant, UT, to Firth and Shelley, where she continued to help care for her siblings. While living in Shelley, Barbara met the love of her life, Gordon Bowcutt; they were married on October 28, 1960, eventually raising their children. Mary Byington and Terry (Annalisa) Bowcutt, in Shelley. Barbara lost her beloved husband in 1973 in a car accident. She was a very strong woman who loved her children deeply, making many sacrifices over the years for them. Barbara was a member of the LDS church and was sealed to Gordon in the Idaho Falls LDS temple in 1974. She never remarried. Barbara's loved spending time with her family, camping, walking, hiking, boating, and the great outdoors in general. Survived by her 2 children, seven grandchildren, 3 sisters, Lynette (Robert) Russell of Shelley, Alice Harding of Aberdeen, Idaho, Elayne (Tom) Jackson Hasibar also of Aberdeen; precedied by brothers Elray and Kenny Simons and sisters Donna Lu Simons, and Pat Parmer. Funeral Services held Tuesday May 9th at Fifth Ward Chapel at 513 South Park Ave. in Shelley. Bishop Jack Grover conducted.
