Melvin RINGLE, 88, Logansport, died at 2:15 Tuesday at his home. Mr. Ringle was born Nov. 21, 1900 in Mercer County, Ill., to John L. and Julia Ann COON RINGLE, who survive. He married Anna Louise BLACKBURN June 4, 1931 in Fulton. He worked for Shell Oil and later operated a Shell Service Station in Rochester before moving to Logansport in 1950. He then worked for Alpha Industries and retired in 1970. he was a member of the Ninth Street Christian Church and served as a deacon and usher. Surviving with the wife are three grandchildren, Susan WARD and John RINGLE, both of Indianola, Iowa, and Bill RINGLE, Des Moines, Iowa, and nieces and nephews. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at McCloskey-Hamilton-Gundrum Funeral Home, Logansport. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Rochester. Visitation is Thursday from 2- 4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Ninth Street Christian Church.
