Funeral Held For Joe Allen
ARNOLDS PARK - Funeral services for Joe Allen, age 64, of Arnolds Park, were held Wednesday, April 3, at 2:30 p.m. in the Calvary Methodist Church at Arnolds Park, with the Rev. Charles Gilbert officiating. Burial, with the Donovan-Leyson Funeral Home in Spirit Lake, was in the Okoboji Cemetery.
Mr. Allen died Saturday, March 30, in his home following a lingering illness. He had been employed with the Conservation Commission for the past thirty years.
Survivors are his wife, Anna, two sons, Ronald of Alburquerque, New Mexico, and Maynard of Arnolds Park, four grandchildren, his mother, Mrs Harry W. Allen of Alberta Canada, two sisters and two brothers.
Mr Allen was born January 24, 1904 to Harry W. Allen and Bessie Naomi Ackley at Arnolds Park.
Pallbearers were Floyd Thompson, Wally Jorgensen, Terry Nahler, Larry Beer, Ronald Claussen and Henry Schomaker.
Mrs. William Reif, organist, accompanied Mrs. Al Tucker, soloist.
