The 1840 York Co SC census shows Adam Beamyard.

In 1845 he was an elder at Bethel Presbyterian Church.

The 1860 New Center, York Co, SC census shows Adam, age 59, farmer, and his wife Mary 49 and children Samuel 23, JC 18, Oliver 15, Rufus 1 and Charles 7.

Adam is listed in the Confederate Veterans Enrollment Book, in the Kings Mountain Twp. No unit or other info is given. No other record of Confederate service has been found.

The 1870 Yorkville, York Co. SC census shows Adam, age 61, Mary 59 born Scotland and children, James C. 34, Oliver C. 25, Charles C.17, (AKA George).

The 1880 Kings Mtn. Twp, York Co. SC census shows Adam, age 71, farmer, living with his wife Mary, age 65, and son Charles age 27 (AKA George). Mary has the notation by her name "pneumonia". She died 6/2/1880, census was taken 6/3/1880, her cause of death may have been pneumonia.

Adam received 130 acres of the plantation upon his father's death. Adam left his entire farm to his youngest son, George Charles Calhoun Beamguard. Sons Oliver C. and James Calvin got on $10 each.

All records point to Adam being buried at Old Center Cemetery but it has not been proven and there is no tombstone for him.
