He married 2nd, on June 29, 1882, Phebe Cook Morrill, daughter of Theophilus Edwards and Mary (Thorn) Morrill. Daniel was a licensed preacher of the Free Will Baptist denomination. He removed to Ashland where he was a farmer in 1877. There were 3 children.
•Simeon who was born September, 1820. He married Eliza H. Colby. He was a farmer in Hooksett. There were no children.
•Abigail Frost who was born in June of 1824. She married James Marston Ames.
•Putnam who was born March 16, 1826. He married, on October 2, 1853, Mahala M. Putnam. She is the daughter of Benjamin E. and Deborah (Durgan) Putnam and was born May 2, 1828. For eleven years Putnam was employed at a lumber wharf in Boston. He and Mahala had 3 children: Mahala, Mary Etta and Benjamin.
•John Boynton who was born January 20, 1832. He married, on October 5, 1864, Sarah Colby, daughter of Chase W. They resided in Bridgewater, N.H. Somerville, Mass., and Tilton, N.H. He has held numerous town offices. There were no children.
•Mary who was born October 12, 1835. He married, October 24, 1852, Benaiah P. Burley. She was born September 13, 1830. She died June 21, 1875. She was a woman of high Christian character and excellence. He was a house carpenter and builder. They resided in Sanbornton.
