GUSTAF E. "GUS" DAHLBERG

Gustaf Eugene Dahlberg, born February 24, 1905, in Park City, Utah, to Charles and Ida Dahlberg; died August 18, 1995, surrounded by his loved ones.

Married February 6, 1926, to Hazel Erlandson, who preceded him in death. Gus had six children, 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

For the past 30 years, Gus resided at the home of his loving daughter, Joan. Gus was a master craftsman, inventor, cabinet maker and building contractor. He built many beautiful homes in the Murray and Bennion area, most of which are still standing. Gus was one of the best auto mechanics and had a broad knowledge of electricity. Friends and neighbors called upon Gus when something needed fixing. If it could be done, Gus could do it.

Gus loved to travel, and spent many years and miles in his custom-built, homemade truck and camper, which was his home on wheels. Gus loved to fish and hunt and could be spotted at Brownie Lake, Red Rock Hole, Wolf Creek Pass, Millie's Nipple, Twelve Mile, and many other wilderness areas in Utah. Gus traveled the California coast many times fishing, and enjoying life.

Gus spent his later years traveling with his favorite companion, his son, Ken. Frequent was the question, "Have you heard from Ken?" Gus's great love of hunting, fishing and the outdoors leaves behind a living legacy to his children, grandchildren and many others whom he inspired. Gus had a delightful sense of humor, and was always quick-witted.

"Gramps" dearly loved and enjoyed his great-grandchildren, and spent many precious hours fixing bikes and toys that were broken.

He is survived by two sons and one daughter, Kenneth E. (Maxine) Dahlberg, Provo; Raymond K. Dahlberg, Provo; and Joann D. Olsen, Roy; one brother, Carl B. Dahlberg; 10 grandchildren, JaNeal Kelly, Gary Mitchell, Sandy Miner, Maryann Mitchell, Brian Mitchell, Carol Stringham, Ken Dahlberg, Jr., David Dahlberg, Ricky Dahlberg, and Julie Dahlberg.

Preceded in death by his children, Robert C. Dahlberg, Richard A. Dahlberg, Ida Jean Mitchell; and his grandson, Robert Lee Dahlberg.

We love you, Gramps, we will miss you and you will always be in our hearts and thoughts. See you at the Red Rock Hole!

Funeral services will be Monday, August 21, 1995, 12 noon, at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State St., where friens may call Monday, 11-11:45 a.m. Interment, Murray City Cemetery
