Born and raised in Georgetown. Called Red by his family. Eugene had been kicked in the head by a mule from a delivery cart as a child and suffered from occasional seizures. He was an able seaman in World War I.
After the war, Eugene lived with his sister Louise and her family on Resevoir Rd. A seizure on the tracks while waiting for a streetcar at Glen Echo resulted in Eugene being hit by and trapped under the streetcar. Eugene died at Walter Reed Hospital from his injuries.
