Elma Gertrue Adair McKay was born Saturday, January 9, 1904 to Thomas A. Adair and Georgia Ann Alexander Adair.

She married Oscar West McKay, a son of Claborn Carr McKay and Mary Beulah West McKay.

Mrs. McKay was the sister of Annie Grace Adair, Lattie Mae Sewell, William Bluitt Adair, Luther Dee Adair, Thomas Edward Adair and Irene Agnes Aldridge.

The funeral for Elma Adair McKay, 88, of County Road 203, Danville, was held Friday, October 30, 11 a.m., at Elliott Funeral Home with the Rev. Sammy Wallace officiating.

Burial was in the Johnson Chapel Cemetery.

Mrs. McKay died Wednesday, October 28, 1992 at Lawrence County Hospital. She was a member of Elon Baptist Church.

Survivors include five sons: Eugene McKay and Willard McKay, both of Moulton; Aubrey McKay of Danville; Don McKay of Russellville and James McKay of Decatur; two daughters, Gladys Johnson of Danville and Faye Shelton of Trinity; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were Bobby McKay, Wayne McKay, Mike McKay, Perry Johnson, Stacy Shelton and Allen McKay
