Douglas Carter Arnest, 77 of Mount Holly died January 8, 2003. Mr. Arnest was the son of the late Harry Lee and Fannie Griffih Arnest, a veteran of World War 11, having served with the U.S. Eight Army Air Force during the European operations and a member of Cople Parish.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary McFadon Arnest; a daughter, Katherine A. Purcell; one grandson Gregory McFadon Purcell, all of Mount Holly. Also surviving are two sisters, Frances B. Arnest of Fredericksburg, and Emily A. Williams of Arlington, and two brothers, Harry L. Arnest and Phillip G. Arnest both of Kinsale. A memorial service was held January 11, 2003 at the Yeocomico Episcopal Church, Tucker Hill, Va. Father John Wall officiated.
