CHILLICOTHE -- C. Darrell Crotz, 66, of 1107 W. Truitt died at 6:41 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, 1993, at Proctor Hospital in Peoria.

Born Nov. 24, 1926, in Chillicothe to William H. and Ida Dunbar Crotz, he married Vera Mayer on Aug. 31, 1952, in Saint Francisville. She died Sept. 1, 1982, in Brookfield.

Surviving are his stepmother, Alice J. Crotz of Chillicothe; two sons, Keith Crotz of Chillicothe and Stephen Crotz of St. Louis, Mo.; two grandchildren; and one sister, Zora Bloom of East Peoria.

He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 37 years, last working as a manager in the law department before retiring in 1992. A World War II Navy veteran, he was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4999 in Chillicothe.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Blue Ridge Cemetery in Edelstein. The Rev. Don Gee will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Davison-Fulton Anderson Chapel.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
