Virginia L. Brown, 70, of the Pulpit Harbor Road d ied Friday at Shore Village Nursing Center in Rockland.
Born in Rockland, she was the daughter of Charles and Edith Peterson Mahoney.
For several years she packed sardines at Holmes Packing Co.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, crossword puzzles, reading and gardening.
Surviving is her husband, John B. Brown of North Haven; a daughter, Patricia Ryan of Rockport; two stepsons, Robert M. Brown of Rockland; Christopher J. Brown and his wife, Karen, of Gorham;
a stepdaughter, Jean Roman of Rockland; a sister, Ruth Wilson of Port Clyde; eight grandchildren;and several great-grandchildren.
There are no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held in Fuller Cemetery, North Haven and will be announced. Arrangements by Carpenter Funeral Home.
