Oral A. Abbott, 87, of 1713 Japack Drive, Fremont, died at 4:58 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 1999, in Memorial Hospital, Fremont, where he had been a patient for several days.
He was born near Helena May 17, 1911, to Ervin and Cora (Ladermann) Abbott. His wife, Marian (Fought) Abbott, whom he married April 1, 1967, in Hayes United Methodist Church, Fremont, survives.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Lowell (Alice) McRobbie and Kay Louise Abbott, both of Clarington, Pa.; a stepson, Ernest Dagg of Green Springs; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and four brothers, Leroy Abbott of Fremont, Dale Abbott of Castalia, Lloyd Abbott of Burgoon and R.J. Abbott of Pemberville.
A stepson, Dan Dagg; a brother, Russell Abbott; and a sister, Oleta Nitschke, also are deceased.
Mr. Abbott who was employed as a tool and die maker, retired from Capital Glass Aluminum Corp., Bellevue.
He was a member of Hayes United Methodist Church, Fremont, Masonic Blue Lodge 427, Green Springs, of which he was a 50-year member; Icedore Chapter 299 Eastern Star, Green Springs; Zenobia Shrine of Toledo; and Scottish Rite of Toledo, Seneca County and Sandusky County.
A World War II veteran, he was based at Pearl Harbor and Guam with the Navy Seebees. He had attended Rollersville School.
The Rev. Robert J. Campbell will be the officiant at the 2 p.m. Friday service in the Hayes United Methodist Church of Fremont. Burial will be in Green Springs Cemetery. Visitation is 3-9 p.m. today at the Engle-Young Funeral Home of Green Springs and one hour before the services at the church on Friday.
