Cummingsville community resident and Rhea County native Alma Sue Hurst Hollingsworth, 59, died July 19 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center after an extended illness.

A homemaker, she attended Cummingsville United Methodist Church. She was the daughter of the late James Albert and Eleanor Dunn Hurst; and was preceded in death by sister, Virginia Wilson; and brother, Ivan Hurst.

She is survived by her husband, Donald Hollingsworth; son, Donald Keith Hollingsworth of Spencer; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Brent Jones of McMinnville; sisters, Rohena Blankenship and Juanita Simmons, both of Pikeville, Camellia Holt, Wanda Bean and Shirley Hurst, all of Cookeville; brothers, Charles Hurst of Owosso, Mich., and Lonnie Hurst of Pikeville; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Love-Cantrell & Cope Funeral Home with Kenneth Clayton officiating. Burial will follow at Hodges Cemetery. Visitation will be held form 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. today and 8 a.m. until time of service Monday at Love-Cantrell & Cope.
