Susannah Vanwinkle was the daughter of Michael B. Vanwinkle (b. 1801) and Eliza Abernathy. The family lived in Illinois, where Susannah married William Asbury Hawkins in 1858. The Vanwinkle and Hawkins families moved to Texas before 1860. The cemetery association confirm she is buried here. Family tradition had told us she was buried in the Vanwinkle Cemetery in Collin County, TX. It is wonderful to have finally found where she is at rest.
