Ida Augusta Anderson was born in Kalmar Lan, Sweden, on December 10, 1886, the daughter of Gustav and Carolina Anderson. At the age of three years, she came to America with her parents, brother and sisters, coming directly to North Branch, where she grew up and was confirmed.
On September 10, 1911, she was united in marriage to Carl Bergstrahl and settled in Grasston, where they resided for five years. They then made their home in North Branch until 1943 at which time they moved to Rockford, Ill. They resided in Rockford until 1952, when they moved back to North Branch to make their permanent home.
To this union, six children were born, Gustaf of Rockford, Ill.; Thor of Granada Hills, Calif.; Donald of Peoria, Ill.; Kermit of St. Paul; Ruby (Mrs. L. S. Nelson) of Princeton; Ernest of Rockford, Ill.
Mrs. Bergstrahl is survived by her husband, Carl, the six children and thirteen grandchildren.
The Rev. Donald Germain conducted the funeral services. Organist was Mrs. Donald Holden. Mrs. Elmer Olson was the soloist.
Casket bearers were Lester Nelson and the five sons.
Interment was at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
