Stephen Crews Son of Alexander Crews and Ivy ( née Dubios) Crews.

Stephen in the military:
Served in the War of 1812. In 1817 Camden county, Stephen served as a spy under Major William Bailey.

Stephen moved to St Marys,Camden Ga with Parents around 1813.
Before 1830 he moved to Lower part of Ware Co.Ga. to a community called Blounts Ferry.
Was one of the first settlers. 1850 Changed to Clinch Co Ga,1858 became Echols Co Ga.
Sometimes it was Hamilton Co Fl. This was back when Fl & Ga was fighting over territories.
Live on the West side of the Suwannee River & had a plantation & was a Farmer.
Stephen & Elizabeth were members of Bethel Primitive Baptis Church (Boney Bluff)
There home & Church was on Woodpecker Route.
Stephen was Baptized Oct 1 1843,became a Deacon 2 Dec 1843 & was ordained 2 days later.
Elizabeth was baptized the same day & became one of the organizing members.
Father of 9 children:

*William B Crews 1818 – 1898 .

*Mary Crews-Crews 1822 – 1884.

*Nancy Crews-North 1822 – 1880 .

*Joseph L. Crews 1825 – 1858 .

*John L. Crews 1826 – 1885 .

*Micajah Crews 1835 – 1864 (died as a prisoner of war).

*Caroline Crews-Padgett 1839 – 1946.
