COMFORT — Mr. Tomas "Tom" Sanchez Bosquez of Comfort passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2009, at his residence at the age of 95 years.
Tom Bosquez was born March 7, 1914, in Kendall County, Texas, to Amadeo and Tiodora Sanchez Bosquez.
He married Aurelia Valderez on July 18, 1942, in San Antonio, Texas.
Tom served in the United States Army from Dec. 16, 1942. to Dec. 16, 1945.
Tom Bosquez is survived by his daughter-in-law, Dora Jimenez of Del Rio, Texas; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews
Along with his parents and wife, Tom was preceded in death by his son, Amadeo "Sonny" Bosquez; two brothers, Joe and John Bosquez; and a sister, Sofia Santos.
Viewing will be in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home until 9:45 a.m., Wednesday April 29, with a Mass of Resurrection at 10 a.m., in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Comfort, with the Rev. Jim Cashin officiating.
Graveside service and interment with full military honors will follow in the Comfort Cemetery.
Vigil services will be held on Tuesday, April 27, at 6:30 p.m. in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home of Comfort.
Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Comfort Volunteer Fire Department, American Kidney Foundation or to the charity of one's choice.
Visitation for Tom Bosquez will be held on Tuesday, April 28, from 4 to 8 p.m., in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home of Comfort.
Arrangements are by the Schaetter Funeral Home of Comfort.
