He was born December 12, 1933 in Gonzales, Texas to Olan R. & Stella Bowers.
He was a veteran of the Korean War with service in the U.S. Marines. He was the owner of Bowers Barber Shop in Jacinto City, Texas for many years and was a charter member of the National Rife Association.
He is lovingly survived by his wife and companion of 15 years, Patricia Spellman Bowers of Houston; sister, Melba Bowers of Houston; nephews, Donald & wife Kathy, Mickey & wife Melody, Billy, John & wife Janet, Randy & wife Chris, Dennis & wife Michelle, and Clint; as well as one niece, Lori Mae & husband Calvin.
Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 28 at Carter Funeral Chapel.
He was laid to rest in Harwood Community Cemetery in Harwood, Texas (near Gonzales, TX) under the direction of Carter Funeral Home.
Family and friends gathered Monday evening, February 28 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Carter's Funeral Home.
