Betty Jean Vaughan-Hardman, 83, of Thornton died Monday January 27, 2014 at Valley Ranch Nursing and Rehab in Little Rock.

She was born September 10, 1930 in Bearden. She was a retired X-Ray technician from the Dallas County Hospital and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Thornton.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Byron Jonathon Hardman; her parents, George D. Vaughan and Lottie Vaughan-Gray; and two sisters.

Survivors include her son, Jay Hardman and his wife, Susan of Little Rock; sister, Anne Vaughan Newton of Houston, TX; two grandchildren, Brandon James Hardman and Adam Nicholas Hardman of Little Rock; nieces, Ruth Ann Poole, Ann McKissack, Karen Maness and Julia Faye Byrd.

The funeral services will be held in the Benton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Andy Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Stoney Point Cemetery. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
