Mattie Viola Rainbolt went to be with her Lord on April 28, 2009. She was born in Prairie Hill, Texas on October 11, 1920 to Cam Harrison Ward and Eula Victoria St. John Ward. On September 14, 1940 she married the love of her life, John William Rainbolt. They were married 66 years before he preceded her in death. She was a loving wife, grandmother and homemaker raising 8 children and several grandchildren and for a few years worked at Council Road Baptist Church Daycare Center where she was an "adopted grandma" to many of the children there. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers V. C. Ward, Dallas, TX; H. L. Ward, OKC and 1 sister Ethel Mae Ward, Waco, TX. She is survived by her children: Pat and Monty Monteith, Edmond; Joe and Nikki Rainbolt, OKC; Shirley and Steve Henderson, Guthrie; Kenneth Rainbolt and friend Connie Killian, Yukon; John and Sheryl Rainbolt, Luther; Edward and Teri Rainbolt, Yukon; Pam and Randy Waters, Ovilla, TX; Cindy and Clay Moore, Yukon. She is also survived by 3 sisters: Maggie Dickinson, Mobile, AL; Sara and Wallace Burtcher, OKC; Corene Abernathy, Crescent. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Saturday, May 2, 9:00am to 9:00pm and Sunday 12:00pm to 9:00pm at Mercer-Adams Funeral Home in Bethany with services 10:00am, Monday, May 4, 2009 at Mercer-Adams Chapel with burial in Spring Creek Cemetery, Oklahoma City.
