PORT HURON TIMES HERALD OBITUARY:

Thelma E. Burch, 92, of Jeddo went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 23, 2005 with her family and friends nearby. She was born to Samuel and Ida Draper on April 24, 1913 in Atkins near Avoca, and married Archie W. Burch on Sept. 21, 1938 in Imlay City. Since her marriage, she continued to live in the Jeddo area. Thelma was a member of Zion Methodist Church until it closed and was currently a member of North Lakeport Wesleyan Church. In the early 1960's, she was Clerk of Grant Twp. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She left a rich heritage of living in Christ and letting His light shine through her life. Her family and friends will always remember her laughter. Whenever there was work to be done, Thelma's favorite phrase was "Let's make a game of it." She is survived by her husband of nearly 67 years, Archie W. Burch; her four children, Charles (Nancy) Burch of Narvon, PA, Richard (Jeanette) Burch of Jeddo, David Burch of Sterling Heights and Sharon (Michael) Davis of Monument, CO: nine grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews with warm memories of Aunt Thelma's farm kitchen. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister; and her four brothers. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2005 in Smith Family Funeral Home North, 1525 Hancock St., Pastor Drew Mills of North Lakeport Wesleyan Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Harmony Cemetery, Jeddo. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.
