PORT HURON TIMES HERALD OBITUARY:
Archie W. Burch, 93 of Jeddo went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 30, 2005 with his family at his side. He was born to Henry and Elizabeth Burch on April 2, 1912 in Blaine, married Thelma E. Draper on September 21, 1938 in Imlay City, and last September they celebrated their 66th Anniversary. Years ago, Archie was involved with the Grant Twp. Fire Department and various township committees. He was a member of Zion Methodist Church until it closed and was currently a member of North Lakeport Wesleyan Church. Archie retired from Chrysler Corp. in 1971 after 35 years of service. He enjoyed living on the family farm and farmed well into his 80's. For 24 years, he and Thelma wintered in Lakeland, FL. Many relatives and friends remember evenings of playing games with Archie and Thelma, especially the game of "Rook". Archie was a quiet, unassuming, and gentle man and is survived by his four children, Charles (Nancy) Burch of Narvon, PA, Richard (Jeanette) Burch of Jeddo, David Burch of Sterling Heights, and Sharon (Michael) Davis of Monument, CO; nine grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews. His wife, Thelma, preceded him in death by one week to the day. Also preceding him in death were his parents and his siblings, Percy (Beatrice) Burch, Edna (Ernest) Caddy, Margaret (Russell) Wilton, Irene (William) Mallwitz, and Ruth (Elmer) Hawker. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2005 in Smith Family Funeral Home North, 1525 Hancock St. Archie's grandson-in-law, Pastor Robert Casement, will officiate. Burial will follow in Harmony Cemetery. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Thursday From 2 to 4 and 6 to 8:30 p.m. Contributions may be made in Archie's memory to North Lakeport Wesleyan Church.
