Mr. Bowman was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, was a veteran of World War I, and was a retired farmer.
Born in Augusta County April 21, 1888, he was a son of the late Eli S. and Kate Gress Bowman.
Surviving are his wife, Nina Monger Bowman; one daughter, Mrs. Lois Prescott of Radford; one brother, Erskine R. Bowman of Stuarts Draft; also one grandson and two nieces.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of the Etter Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Richard J. Daley, with burial in Bethlehem Lutheran Church cemetery near Waynesboro.
Friends will be received from 7 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
Active pallbearers will be Gilbert Baker, Earl Wampler, James B. Coiner, Harlon J. Pansch, Clemmer Coiner and Carl Frank.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lee Zirkle, Gordon Breuer, Bowman Quick, Jacob Quick, Merlin Kiblinger, Ree Kiblinger, C. Mays, S.
T. Kite and Edmond Monger.
