BAY MINETTE - Roy B. Poe, 75, died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000, at the William F. Green State Veterans Home in Bay Minette. A resident of Birmingham, he was a civil engineer with the Alabama Highway Department and was district engineer in Baldwin County at the time of his retirement. He was also a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy. He is survived by his wife, Christine Cooke Poe of Birmingham; two daughters, Krista P. Gallimore of Birmingham and Cyndi P. Chancery of Bay Minette; four brothers, Allen Poe of Las Vegas, Noah E. Poe of Montgomery, Steve Poe of Weaver and Robert Coe of Centreville; three sisters, Eula Mae Fuller of Selma, Mary Maze of Birmingham and Sara Baker of Atlanta; and three grandchildren. Visitation was held Saturday at Norris Funeral Home in Bay Minette. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at the funeral home with burial to follow in Bay Minette Cemetery. Norris Funeral Home in Bay Minette is handling the arrangements.
